Wixter’s Sockeye Salmon is wild-caught in the cool, clean waters of the Cook Inlet. Since it originates from one of the only salmon fisheries not enhanced by a hatchery spawn, Sockeye is a truly wild fish. With its deep orange, almost scarlet flesh, Sockeye is prized by salmon lovers for its texture and rich flavor. While it is one of the smaller species of Pacific salmon, Sockeye is packed with more heart-healthy omega-3s than its larger cousins. It is also a joy to work with in the kitchen. Wixter’s Sockeye stands up well to grilling, tastes delicious slow roasted, and can be fried for foodies who like a crispy skin.

THAWING

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | 8-12 HOURS

Remove seafood from packaging and place the product in a bowl or on a plate. Cover and put in the refrigerator.


RECOMMENDED | 1-3 HOURS

Submerge seafood in its package in a bowl of cold water. Change water every hour. Remove from packaging prior to cooking.


QUICK THAW | 10-30 MINUTES

Place seafood in a strainer in its package and run under ice cold water until thawed. Remove from packaging prior to cooking.

COOKING

BAKE | 8-12 MINUTES

Add 1 tbsp. of olive oil and bake at 325°F for 8-12 minutes.


PAN SEAR | 8-12 MINUTES

Add 1 tbsp. of olive oil and cover on medium-high heat for 8-12 minutes.


GRILL | 8-12 MINUTES

Add 1 tbsp. of olive oil and cover at 325°F for 8-12 minutes.
